About Us
Cootharinga is a quality service provider who has been supporting people with disabilities in North Queensland for over 56 years. Located at 20 Keane Street Currajong, Cootharinga provides accommodation and support services in Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and regions in between.
We provide six major services:
- Supported Accommodation
- Individual and Family Support
- Community Linking
- Therapy Service
- Respite Service
- and Rehabilitation Technology Service
Our Respite Service and Rehabilitation Technology Service being unique to North Queensland.
Cootharinga also has an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Liason Officer and Resource and Information Centre both located at Currajong.
Cootharinga employ over 100 staff, with a strong focus on relevant staff training and development.
We are proudly a member-based organisation and our success is directly reliant on the support and involvement of the local community. Fundraising plays a vital role in the viability of Cootharinga, It is our goal to continue working with the local community to provide essential services to those people living with disabilities within our region.
