Bequests

Making a Will is one of life’s most important responsibilities when planning and thinking about the future. A Will is the only way you can be sure that who you want to leave your possessions to are carried out.

Your Will also gives you the opportunity to leave a legacy or a very special gift to organisations you admire or which have played an important part in your life. This type of gift, known as a bequest, is the greatest demonstration of your generosity. Bequests represent different things to different people.

For some, they provide an opportunity to leave behind an important legacy that will carry on, after a lifetime of giving. For others, they offer the chance to satisfy their appreciation, by providing an avenue to make a substantial donation to an organisation.

When you leave a bequest to Cootharinga, you ensure that your support for causes you believe in, will carry on well beyond your own lifetime. Should you decide to remember Cootharinga in your Will, the suggested wording for inclusion is:

“I hereby bequeath the sum of $[………] to Cootharinga Society of North Queensland of 20 Keane Street Currajong, Townsville, and I declare that the receipt of its treasurer or other proper officer shall be a sufficient discharge to my trustees.”

For further information, or to arrange a confidential meeting to discuss leaving a bequest, contact Cootharinga by email: csnq@cootharinga.org.au; or phone (07) 4759 2000. Completed forms can be printed and then mailed or faxed to:
