Glencore grants Cootharinga the opportunity for growth!
Cootharinga North Queensland in partnership with Glencore is proud to launch the Cootharinga Community Hub in Mount Isa!
In 2015, the Glencore Community Program North Queensland contributed $50,000 of funding in order to create the Cootharinga Community Hub. This generous contribution has enabled Cootharinga to provide people with disabilities in Mount Isa and North West Queensland with quality services such as Skills and Transitions and Customer Connect, as well as life skills for future independence.
This grant has assisted in turning the Cootharinga Community Hub into a usable space with new paint, furniture and carpet and a brand new accessible bathroom for the Skills and Transitions participants.
The future holds exciting new prospects of overnight respite, allied health services and equipment solutions, which will further benefit people living with disability, their families and the community in the surrounding region.
Alison Martens, Cootharinga Area Manager Services – Mount Isa & Far West said, “We are extremely proud of our partnership with Glencore and our wonderful new facility they have assisted us to renovate. The funding has helped create a relaxed atmosphere where our customers can explore new experiences, meet new people and discover their dreams, which achieves Cootharinga’s purpose of tailoring solutions to assist people live the life they want.”
Cootharinga would sincerely like to thank Glencore for their incredible support and funding via the Glencore Community Program North Queensland. This partnership will help the customers of Cootharinga achieve personal growth, form friendships and take control of their future.
