Resource & Information Centre
The Resource and Information Centre provides a specialised library and information service for people we support and their families, carers, staff, other agencies, and members of the community, on disabilities and related issues. The Resource and Information Centre which is located in Head Office provides this service throughout regional North Queensland.
The centre has information and reference materials covering categories such as disabilities in general, syndromes, nutrition and health, parent/carer education, therapy, societal issues, access and employment, recreation and travel, discrimination and human rights, aids, equipment, technology and independent living. It contains over 1300 reference items.
These resources include:

Additionally the centre houses archives tracing Cootharinga's history from 1951 when it began as the "Cootharinga Home for Crippled Children", to cater for victims of the polio epidemic at the time. The collection also includes the history of the Miss Australia Quest.
Who may borrow?
Resources are available to staff, people we support and families, students, agencies, organisations and the general public. Registration as a borrower is free, yet essential prior to loan of items.
All items, unless specifically arranged with Librarian, are loaned for a period of 2 weeks.
If materials are required for a longer period than the due date, please contact the Librarian for an extension.
Open daily 9.30 am - 3.30 pm. Librarian available to assist on Thursdays between 8.00am and 4.30pm
