SKILLS & TRANSITION PROGRAM - Townsville & Mount Isa
The Cootharinga Skills & Transition Program offers short courses and 1:1 tailored courses to assist you to:
- Challenge yourself and develop new skills to help you become more independent
- Explore new experiences and possibilities
- Meet people and make friends
- Live, work and play in your local community!
The Cootharinga Skills & Transition Program provides you with the choice of what you would like to participate in and choose the skills you would like to learn.
This program is focused on participants developing skills to live independently, or to prepare for transition to employment, further study, volunteering or connecting with community groups.
There is a wide range of courses offered which are held in a variety of learning environments. Some courses are instructed by our skilled Support Workers, whilst others are conducted in partnership with other organisations. At the end of the course, participants receive a certificate of attendance. and feedback on progress.
Support to complete a course
Cootharinga can provide support for you to do a course with your Support Worker or in a group. Support can be provided on any day. You can claim the costs of support with your NDIS plan.
