Volunteering

Since its foundation in 1951, Cootharinga has been involved in using the skills of interested community members who volunteer their time.

Volunteers are an important part of Cootharinga’s structure as they assist in raising community awareness of Cootharinga and the quality services we provide. There are many opportunities to be part of Cootharinga’s volunteer network. By just spending a few hours a week you can make a difference.

In our Supported Accommodation Service, you can work along side staff to assist clients in their own homes with housework, outings, cooking, hobbies or gardening. In Head Office you can assist in Reception, perform data entry, assist in the Resource and Information Centre or assist with Marketing and Fundraising.

The Babinda Bargain Centre, a second hand clothing and furniture store has been operating for over forty years and is managed by 44 committed and dedicated volunteers.
