It has been an exciting week for Cootharinga North Queensland with the construction beginning for two new specialist disability accommodation (SDA) properties in Townsville.
This project could not have started without the generous support of Capabilities Employment Services. We are also happy to be working closely with Gedoun Construction and supporting local businesses. The two new, fully accessible properties will be built to NDIS High Physical Support design standards with 6 star energy efficiency standards, and feature 3 private bedrooms with in-ceiling hoists, 2 bathrooms, communal dining and entertaining areas and will provide customers with the supports they need to live as independently as possible.

Building accessible communities is part of Cootharinga North Queensland’s strategy and goals and we are excited to see these being met. Cootharinga North Queensland has plans for the development of further SDA properties throughout North and Far North Queensland. In addition we will also be developing further short and medium term accommodation and transitional living arrangements.
