Cootharinga North Queensland is proud to be assisting The CP Info Project and are calling on people throughout North and Far North Queensland with Cerebral Palsy or their families to take part in this great project. The CP Info Project will assist the NDIS in developing a platform to increase the quality and accessibility of information available to people with cerebral palsy.

What is The CP Info Project?

The CP Info Project is funded as part of a National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) funding round.

The project is being delivered by a consortium of organisations led by Cerebral Palsy Australia, Ability First Australia, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and the Cerebral Palsy Support Network to establish a national online platform to increase the quality and accessibility of information available to people with cerebral palsy and the key people and services that most impact their lives.

Why is The CP Info Project important?

The CP Info Project will collect, review, and assess existing, credible information from around the world and make it easily available via the national platform.

The platform will be designed to make information easy to understand and accessible. It will be relevant across the life span and will reflect the diverse needs of Australians with cerebral palsy.

Additionally, the project will develop much needed information resources where there are none, in consultation with people with cerebral palsy, carers, and other key people.

The project will embrace leading and emerging technology to present and distribute information online.

Background of The CP Info Project

The recently launched Australian and New Zealand Cerebral Palsy Strategy, developed by people with cerebral palsy, their families, professionals and researchers across Australia and New Zealand, identified a number of objectives to improve quality of life for people with cerebral palsy and their families including:

  • Inclusion and Engagement
  • Health and Well-being
  • Intervention and Disability Support
  • Prevention and Cures

The CP Info Project supports the delivery of information which aligns to the Strategy’s goals and priority objectives.
